And another thing

Yesterday, whilst talking to my lovely doctor I realised a very big mistake that I had made at my initial appointment with the consultant. Get a copy of all the letters that the hospital sends to your GP.

I saw a couple of the letters that had been sent to my doctor yesterday and, for the first time, it stated that we are dealing with MFI. Yes, MALE FACTOR INFERTILITY.

I so could have done with receiving that letter when it was sent. Maybe then the husband would have accepted this by now.

Still, you live and learn and infertility is definitely a very BIG learning curve in more ways than one.

Good Lord, that's a smack in the teeth and no mistake. I'm sorry. The frustration is bad enough without having this kind of 'surprise' sprung on you.

Learning lessons so many folk will never need to learn.

I can't stand the way that very often we are the last to know, and it is only through being cc-d in on a letter from the consultant to Doctor that I found out they were planning IUI. Can't they just tell yu these things?

I agree with May and Liz - this really isn't the right way to be told such news, but it does seem to be fairly commonplace; I first learned of my ovarian reserve issues after being cc-d in on a letter from my consultant to my GP.

I'm sorry that you now have this to deal with on top of everything else, and hope that you and your husband will find a way through it together.
