Wow, it has been a long time since I've accessed my Blogger account and I see that I have some messages. Thanks Jenn, SassyIFlady and Liz.
A lot has happened since I last posted. We did a FET in September and amazingly I got a positive. We had two frozen embryos. The first embryo was borderline when it thawed so they went straight to the 2nd which was graded B. There was not a single part of me that thought that the FET would work, why would it? Everything had gone perfectly in the fresh IVF cycle but the lack of a positive on a grade A blastocyst really did make it unlikely that a frozen and thawed grade B blastocyst would work. I was already looking ahead to a new fresh cycle in Spring 2011.
Every step of this pregnancy has been taken with very cautious steps. When we went back to the clinic for the pregnancy scan I was sure that they weren't going to find a heartbeat. It was just amazing to see it on the screen. The best, but most surreal feeling ever, and there was still such a long way to go. This pregnancy has made sure that I am aware of just how precious it is, in fact I hardly did anything in the first trimester because quite a heavy bleed the week after I found out I was pregnant scared me half to death and, everytime I started to relax, I would have a light bleed!
I'm now 21 weeks and I still don't quite believe it. I am mindful that there is still a long way to go but it is only at this stage that I am beginning to feel a little more positive that this could actually result in something real. It's great, if not a little weird, to feel movement and I am looking forward to that movement growing stronger as it will give me some peace of mind that things are OK.
Thank you once again to everybody who has supported me through this journey. I wish you all the best, especially Liz as she finally starts her first IVF cycle (I've got everything crossed for you), Jenn who is enjoying the safe arrival of her son and, SassyIFlady who shares such wonderful posts about her son Bryce.
Take care x
