Getting impatient...again

Yep, I have had enough of waiting. I want to move on to the next stage NOW. But of course, we can't, not just yet. I need to get through the next two months at work, which are going to be horrendous, then we are off on holiday and then we can begin.

I'm back at the doctors tomorrow to discuss the results of my recent round of FSH blood tests. I'm pretty sure that we will no longer be eligible for egg sharing. Not really sure why I had to make an appointment to see her and I'm sure that it will be a waste of time but it'll be good to find out whether they have heard from the neighbouring PCT. Although I am not holding out much hope for that.

I got my HIV result via text today and I am pleased to say that it was negative. It's good to have it confirmed. I went for a re-test last Wednesday. What a nightmare. Apparently they don't do tests for fertility treatment, they are 'a preventative and treatment clinic' not a freebie for those who are trying to get knocked up. After the lecture she told me that she would write something on my notes to say that I consent to them giving out my results to a fertility clinic and then I had to sign. I'm pretty sure that we will have to have the tests repeated and will have to pay for the privilege but, I'm really not bothered anymore. I just want to get on with it.

The day I nearly had a heart attack

Yesterday (Tuesday) I phoned the clinic to try and get the results of the STI tests. A machine told me that test results can only be given out on a Wednesday so I figured that was why I hadn't received my text message.

I relaxed.

Today, I nearly had a heart attack when I checked my phone and discovered that I had a text message from the clinic telling me to call them for my results. The husband didn't have this, the husband had a nice text telling him that all his results were negative.

In the three seconds that it took to read and register that text I was an emotional wreak; crying, shaking and feeling sick. This was it. I was convinced that they were going to tell me that I have HIV.

I calmed down, phoned them and was told that there was nothing to worry about. They couldn't complete all the tests because they didn't have enough blood. (I don't think I mentioned in the clap clinic post that the nurse had struggled to get two vials of blood out of me.) They have managed to test for a number of things but the two things that they couldn't test for were Hepatitis B and HIV.

Great!

I'm going to have to go back for another blood test and then I have the pleasure of waiting another week for the results.

Really, why does everything seem to be taking so long at the moment? I wanted this done and dusted but it has dragged on for nearly two weeks and is likely to drag on for longer because I can't make it to the clinic tonight.

No news is good news?

The husband got a text message on Wednesday saying that his results are negative.

I'm still waiting....
